L'Homme armé is a secular song dating back to the 15th century and used by many composers. Guillaume Dufay, a musician of the Franco-Flemish school, may have been the first to use it as the melody of the "tenor" in his four-part mass, written around 1460.
The Norwegian composer Dániel Péter Biró is now recomposing it with the singers of Les Métaboles and electronics (with the SWR experimental studio).
